If the number is still, the decision is still

While I run IT at DCS I also own the QlikView reports, the ODBC links and the data checks. Analysis is not a slide job. It is the number inside the operation.

What I look at

QlikView reports, volume and task checks, why the feed died when ODBC dropped, whether SQL and the screen agree. With the team in Germany I make the number the same number on both sides.

Tools

QlikView, SQL, ODBC. Python for shaping data and light automation. If the source is dirty the dashboard lies — so I check the query before I trust the chart.

How this meets engineering and QA

The person who writes the report sees the empty field in the contract. The person who writes the test proves 'the data arrived' row by row. Three trades on paper. One day's work here.
